Welcome to the Climbing Club of South Australia

The Climbing Club of South Australia, locally known as the CCSA, represents rock climbers in SA by serving as a meeting point and voice for individual climbers, and deals with National Parks and private landowners regarding access issues etc.

CCSA club meetings are open for anyone (members and non members) to attend. They’re held on the 2nd Wednesday of every 2nd month at 7:30pm at the Wheatsheaf Hotel, 39 George Street, Thebarton. See the Events Calendar for the next meeting.

Please check at the bar to find us either in the Tin Shed or the Mermaid (Dining) Room.

Fire Danger Climbing Notice

Please note that climbing is banned at Norton Summit on all total fire ban days. This includes severe, catastrophic and extreme fire ratings.

Climbers’ Code

Outdoor climbing is awesome but you are at risk of serious injury if it isn’t done safely and there are expectations set by the climbing community that you should understand before you head out. See Climbers’ Code for more info.

Are you new to climbing in SA?

See Climbing Gyms for some indoor climbing options, or you can cruise around to Morialta Gorge or Norton Summit or come along to a club meeting and meet some friendly locals.
