2014 Australia Day Award

The Third Creek Project was awarded the Community Event of the Year by the Adelaide Hills Council. The group have been rehabilitating Third Creek but it was nominated for the award for the work which has been done in conjunction with the Climbing Club of South Australia below the Norton Summit climbing area.

Reel Rock Tour 2013

Its back again for 2013

The REEL ROCK Film Tour brings the best climbing and adventure films of the year to live audiences throughout the world with shows of high energy, community feel, party atmosphere that go beyond a mere film.

Founded in 2006 by ground breaking filmmakers Josh Lowell (Big UP Productions) and Peter Mortimer (Sender Films), REEL ROCK has grown to over 400 events per year, reaching over 100,000 viewers worldwide.

Planting Day at Norton Summit

The Third Creek Re-vegetation group is ready to plant Pizey’s Knob (Norton Summit climbing area) and has scheduled planting for:

Sunday 23rd June from 10:30am

With nearly 800 plants to put in place PLEASE COME ALONG AND HELP!

Recent involvement by climbers with the residents has greatly improved relationships. Let’s keep up the good work!

Please bring digging tools and gloves, all volunteers greatly needed and very welcome!

Norton Summit Revegetation

From The Club President:

Hi everyone, please note works on roadside vegetation on June 1st. The message as received below outlines the work to be carried out and future plans.
As you will also note our recent efforts as a club have been recognised, appreciated and I believe contributed greatly to maintaining access to the Norton Summit crag. Thanks to everyone who has contributed in some way, let’s keep up the good work.
My advice is for no climbing at Norton Summit on June 1, if you simply must climb there are plenty of nearby options, but please also consider turning up to help the locals and keep access to this area. Continue reading
